UNSEEN

SCAD Senior Collection 2024/2025

Inspired by the invisible string theory, Unseen explores the unseen threads that connect us, shaping our relationships, experiences, and destinies. These invisible forces guide and protect us, weaving together moments and people in ways we may not always see but can deeply feel. Through this collection, I wanted to translate this abstract concept into something tangible—through texture, structure, and movement.

The designs feature oversized silhouettes, abundant fabric, and intricate textile manipulations. Embellishments and hardware serve as delicate hints of gold, adding a sense of elegance and refinement, while raw edges and loose threads symbolize the ever evolving nature of connection, unfinished, yet deeply meaningful.

A soft, muted color palette of whites, creams, tans, and pale greens evokes a sense of calm and introspection, reinforcing the ethereal and emotional nature of the collection. To further emphasize contrast, I’ve paired structured, architectural elements with airy, delicate fabrics like organza and silk. This interplay between rigidity and fluidity represents the tension between fate and free will, between the visible and the unseen.

At its core, Unseen is deeply personal. It is inspired by the women in my family, my mother and female ancestors whose choices, resilience, and unseen sacrifices have shaped the person I am today. Their stories, much like the invisible strings that connect us all, live on through my designs.

Each piece in this collection is more than clothing; it is a reflection of connection, memory, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. Unseen invites the wearer to step into something greater than themselves—to feel the threads that tie them to the past, present, and future.
